Hello Python

Service agreement

Terms of Service

The rules for using Hello Python, the limits of an educational coding service, and the responsibilities that keep it useful and safe.

Last updated: August 15, 2026

The agreement

Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of hellopython.dev and the Hello Python learning service (“Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use account features only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. The Service is not directed to children under 13.

Educational Service

Hello Python provides lessons, coding exercises, interview-style problems, automated local tests, guided practice, and mock rounds for educational purposes. It is not an accredited school, recruiting service, employer, or professional career adviser.

The Service does not guarantee a job offer, interview invitation, test result, certification, or mastery outcome. Automated feedback and browser-delivered tests can be incomplete or wrong; you remain responsible for reviewing your code and decisions.

Your License to Use the Service

Subject to these Terms, Hello Python gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access the Service for lawful learning and interview preparation. This license does not transfer ownership of the Service or its content.

Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • break the law, infringe rights, or use the Service to create or distribute harmful material;
  • attack, probe, bypass, overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service, its providers, authentication, rate limits, or security controls;
  • access another person's account or data without permission;
  • introduce malware, secrets, credentials, or code intended to harm a device or service;
  • systematically scrape, mirror, republish, sell, or train a competing content product on substantial portions of Hello Python content without written permission;
  • misrepresent automated or solution-assisted work as independent completion; or
  • remove ownership, attribution, license, or source notices.

Reasonable indexing by public search engines and personal accessibility tools is allowed. Security research requires prior written authorization.

Your Code and Local Execution

You retain rights you already have in code and text you enter. You are responsible for having the right to use that material and for avoiding secrets, personal information, proprietary employer code, or malicious payloads.

Python normally runs locally in your browser through Pyodide and a Web Worker. Local execution reduces server disclosure but is not a security sandbox for hostile code. Browser limits, crashes, extensions, and device configuration can affect execution and persistence.

When you save or submit learning work while signed in, you grant us a limited license to host, process, reproduce, and transmit that material only as needed to synchronize, restore, test, secure, provide account access, delete, and support the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.

Accounts and Security

Public learning content can be read without an account, but saving code, progress, Activity, Skill Lab drafts, or Mock Rounds requires a Google-connected Hello Python account. You must provide accurate account information, protect access to your Google account and active session, and promptly report suspected unauthorized use. You may not sell, transfer, or share an account in a way that defeats access or security controls.

We may suspend or restrict an account when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect users or providers, comply with law, or enforce these Terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and a way to contact support.

Content and Intellectual Property

Hello Python and its licensors retain rights in the Service, source code, original teaching text, visual design, structured curricula, authored exercises, tests, diagrams, trademarks, and other content. Access to the public website does not grant access to or a license for the private source repository.

Third-party interview problems are described in original Hello Python wording and linked to canonical sources where appropriate. A reference or compatibility mention does not transfer the third party's rights or imply endorsement.

Third-Party Services and Links

The Service relies on or links to providers such as Cloudflare, Supabase, Google, Python documentation, and coding platforms. Their products and sites are governed by their own terms and policies. Hello Python is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or practices.

Service Changes and Availability

We may improve, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, conflict-free synchronization under every network failure, backward compatibility for every browser, or preservation of changes that have not synchronized. We will avoid silently changing stable learning identities and will provide reasonable notice of material account or policy changes when practical or legally required.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, or error-free operation. We do not warrant that exercises, tests, explanations, external references, or security controls will identify every error or meet every interviewer's expectations.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hello Python and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, opportunity, profits, goodwill, or business, arising from the Service.

For a free Service, our aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed US $100. These exclusions and limits do not apply where prohibited, and they do not reduce mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending Your Use

You may stop using the Service at any time and clear local site data through your browser. If account deletion is available, you may use that control or contact support. We may terminate or restrict access for a material or repeated violation, a security or legal need, or discontinuation of the Service.

Sections that by their nature should survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and applicable law—continue after termination.

Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of Hello Python, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, while preserving any mandatory consumer protections and forum rights that apply where you live. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking urgent relief for misuse, security threats, or intellectual-property infringement where lawful.

Changes and Contact

We may update these Terms. The date above shows the latest revision. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice before it takes effect when reasonably possible or legally required. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

Questions about these Terms and privacy requests can be sent to support@hellopython.dev.

Do not send passwords, access tokens, private keys, or sensitive source code by email.
